About Journey Into Amazing Caves

Journey Into Amazing Caves is a spectacular movie made for IMAX (large format film) and was produced by MacGillivray Freeman Films. MacGillivray Freeman Films also produced of several other extraordinary films for IMAX, including The Living Seas, Everest, and Dolphins.

Their new movie, Journey Into Amazing Caves, is a three segment story, where different caves environment are researched. On this adventure, two cavers explore caves in the canyon walls of Little Colorado River Gorge, Arizona, ice caves in Greenland's glaciers, and cave systems beneath the rainforest of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.

The underwater caves of Mexico's Yucatan contain beautiful formations found in tropical terrestrial caves. In the movie, the water is so clear you won't know they are really filming underwater until you see the divers.

Jorge plays the role of the "Dive Ace", a local explorer who leads the scientific explorers searching underwater cave passages for microorganisms living in the shimmering holocline, where the freshwater meets the ocean saltwater. He received a great letter of recommendation from them.

He is the diver leading Hazel, the scientist from England, through the jungles to find cenotes and caves. The film has great footage of Jorge (in yellow wetsuit with blue trim) and Hazel diving in Mexico's caves - including a cool squeeze sequence.

Narrated by Liam Neeson and featuring a soundtrack with songs and music from The Moody Blues, Journey Into Amazing Caves is MacGillivray Freeman Films' third Great Adventure Film. Photographed with IMAX cameras, Journey Into Amazing Caves is now playing on giant screen theatres across North America and will premiere internationally in the following months.
